Insurance built around the life you are protecting.
Chao Insurance is an independent life insurance brokerage. Term, whole life, universal and indexed universal life, final expense, mortgage protection, group and survivorship coverage — we shop A-rated carriers so you do not have to, then stay with the policy long after it is bound.

Every kind of
life insurance.
Life insurance is our practice — from a simple term policy to permanent coverage with cash value. We shop A-rated carriers on every case, so no single company dictates what we recommend.

I help clients secure affordable coverage for a set period, providing a tax-free death benefit that can replace income, pay debts, or protect their family during key financial years.
Whole Life Insurance
I help clients obtain lifelong coverage with predictable premiums, a guaranteed death benefit, and cash value that can build over time.
Universal Life Insurance
I help clients get permanent life insurance with flexible premium and coverage options, allowing the policy to adapt as their income, family, or long-term needs change.
Indexed Universal Life Insurance
I help clients access permanent life insurance with flexible premiums and cash-value growth potential linked in part to a market index, while maintaining downside limits set by the policy.
Final-Expense / Burial Insurance
I help clients obtain smaller, often easier-to-qualify-for life insurance coverage intended to reduce the financial burden of funeral expenses, medical bills, and other end-of-life costs.
Mortgage Life Insurance
I help homeowners protect their household from mortgage debt by arranging coverage designed to help pay the remaining loan balance if the insured dies.
Group Life Insurance
I help employers and eligible groups offer life insurance coverage to members or employees, giving families valuable financial protection that may be more accessible than individual coverage.
Survivorship Life Insurance
I help couples obtain one policy that pays after the second insured person dies, supporting estate-planning goals, inheritance needs, and financial protection for heirs.

From an Allstate office in DC to an independent practice you can call directly.
I am Sean Chao. I have been licensed in insurance since 2018, when I opened my own Allstate brokerage in Washington, D.C. After returning from a U.S. military deployment to the Middle East in 2020, I went independent — because the families I serve deserve a broker who can shop the entire market, not a single carrier's shelf.
I hold lines of authority in property, casualty, life, and health, and at this time I am actively writing life insurance policies — including indexed universal life. For the other lines, I provide expert advice and referrals to brokers I trust. Every quote is mine. Every renewal review is mine. There is no call center between us.

Term is cheaper. Permanent builds value. The internet treats this like a debate. In reality, most households need a thoughtful blend — here is how we decide.

Bundling Home and Auto Insurance — Without Leaving Money on the Table
The bundle discount is real, but it is also the easiest place for a captive agent to quietly overcharge you. Here is how an independent broker shops it.
